So we've all seen these, I'm not that creative. But I am cheap and instead of paying $20 bucks I made my own version for about $5. These will be gifts for the last Holiday I spend with my lovely boss and favorite coworker.

This one looks crooked but it's not

You can hang the board on the wall or just prop it on your desk. You can slip photos and papers behind the ribbon.

Materials: 2 sheets of foam board *each board is cut in half and glued together for extra thickness*
             Cement Glue
2 yards of fabric (one for each there will be scrap)
Ribbon (wide to hold pics, thin to hang it from)
Buttons and thread (yes the buttons are sewn on-- it holds the ribbon in place

Nice job!! The ribbons are so nicely laid out and evenly spaced. What do the backs look like? I can't figure that part out.

Thanks for the inspiration - I can think of, oh, a billion people I know that would love one of these for Christmas! I see them in the stores all the time, and never thought to use foamcore. I have a bunch of Warm and Natural quilt batting at home, which I think I would add as the filling in the sandwich here, to give it a little more padding, maybe?

My boss is a huge Westie freak, and a horse freak. I'm sure I could find some nice fabric having to do with one of those. I also just happen to have a box of really pretty florist's corsage pins here (they have pretty pearly heads) that would look awesome with the board. Thanks again for the idea!

I definitely think batting is a good idea! I didnt have any so I skipped it, but the padding would be a nice touch. The back is a mess of folded fabric from the front, glue and staples for the ribbons to give them extra hold. I glued and stapled the hanging ribbons and I then cut a square of fabric the same size as the board and attached it to the back to cover the ugly. So the back looks like the front without the ribbons.  Grin It's so easy, really ANYONE can do it.

Yay my boss just asked me to go to Staples to pick up some toner and paper. Guess who's getting some foamcore? Yep, me...that's who! I can't wait to try this. Thanks for explaining about the back...it's all coming together now Wink
