I hope I'm putting this in the right place! It's my first project post, yay!

My roommate makes a lot of homemade pasta sauce, so there are tons of those little smooth-sided tomato paste cans lying around. I finally snagged one before it got recycled and made it into a candle holder! I cut a star out of paper, taped it on, and then made holes all around it. I just used an awl and a hammer, though next time I might use a nail 'cos I don't want to hurt my awl. Unfortunately I missed the post elsewhere on the site (here) about filling them with ice first, so it is dented kind of funny:

Here it is with its friends; you can see the weird denting better in this one I think:

But of course when there's a candle inside it and it's dark outside it, you can't tell! It makes star-shaped patterns on the table and walls, too, which is nice.

(Sorry about the crappy photos; I am borrowing a friend's digital camera and I'm not very good at using it. Smiley )

That turned out cute   =)   I love stars

If you put a hole on each side about 1/2 inch down & run some flexible wiere you can make a handle to hang the little lanters.  They look nice around a patio or deck.
