http://www.liquitex.com/Products/gelmediums.cfm that will give you little bits of info on each type of gel medium that liquitex makes...gives tidbits of what to use it on, how it dries, adhesion, etc.
http://www.goldenpaints.com/products/medsadds/gels/gels.php this'll give you the same info, but for golden's line. plus, they have little photos of the product.

i worked at an art store for awhile, and though liquitex is a tiny bit cheaper, more folks swore by the golden products. mind you, i've never used either, so i don't know firsthand. hope this helps a bit.... Undecided

I've been using gel medium to do transfers this week.  I love it!  The process is a bit delicate but once you get the medium to dry - it is so amazing. 

I'm sure that you'll have a great time working with it.  Please post some pics when you get the results you want.
