Unconditional Swap - December

i've noticed that too, and felt bad about it, but i'm sending to three people already, and i've killed my shipping budget for december!

i think that's a problem too, as well as crafting time, but also money for shipping in this highly consumer-driven time of year!

i was planning on going through the list again right before the end of the month, cause at least then it would be in january's shipping budget, and seeing if there are any more crochet wishes (cause i've been too sick to sew, but i can sit and crochet).

I'm already sending to one person, but I'm afraid I'm not talented enough for many of these requests.  I'm pretty much a beginning sewer, and my few tries at stencilling haven't turned out real well. I do knit and crochet, but I already am a little overwhelmed in that department. Maybe if I keep looking the posts over something else will pop out to me.

I tried to pick people who had not already been picked, however, because of my already heavy christmas crafting load (and budgetary concerns), I picked only a couple of items that were relatively quick/inexpensive to make/ship. I'm a mom and a student (read: broke).

One thing that I will add, and I'm not sure if other people do this, but I sort of 'craftster stalked' people to see if they had good 'craftster karma' before I signed up to do their wish. I know that this is an unconditional swap, but I am more inclined to pick someone who has been involved in the community rather than someone with very few posts who has never swapped/never given positive feedback to other people/etc. Not that I am trying to be a snob or a scrooge or anything like that...it's more of a "returning the good karma" thing (if that makes any sense without making me sound like a huge b tch)!

*lol* I do something similar as well - I definitely try to pick someone who hasn't been chosen - and there are always plenty!  And I also try to pick someone who's been around for a bit and has a decent number of posts.  I don't mind swapping with swap newbies in regular swaps, but this being unconditional I like to think the people I'm picking aren't just posting their list and buggering off (not saying that just because you're a newbie you do that - but since there's no craftster history - who knows) but that they're crafting for others too - which is why I LOVE the new 2006 wishlist swap idea.  I don't need to receive something in return, but it's nice to know that those in the swap are giving as well as receiving!

And shipping from Canada - I am all over the inexpensive to ship items, so I send a LOT of jewelry - which is great because I also don't have to buy new supplies!   But I do try to make unique items, I'm not just grabbing something from my inventory and shipping it out
