Hate to be a damper but...I was really disappointed with the magazine.  It was almost all advertising!!  Don't they think we get enough of that in magazines like Glamour and Cosmo?!

Not enough good stuff in there to balance it out, in my opinion.  I was hoping it'd help me to simplify things, not buy more stuff to crowd my already-crowded apartment. Huh

I definately would miss this mag if i folded.  It covers so many bases and surprises me each month.  Great recipes to boot !  My cousin gets Martha and we would swap but I can't give my real simple away any more so I got her a sub for part of her christmas present. I don't miss martha much.

Yeah, I agree. I found it a bit repetitive/boring.  Embarrassed

i happen to love this magazine. it really strikes up on the recycling/reuse with its "aha! solutions" section in every issue.
this month...
-use those toothbrush holders (the ones that are like sealed cups with holes) to hold flowers. fake or real, your decision
-fill your washing machine with ice to keep drinks cool during big parties
-use those photo tree things (which there are like infinity of at target) to hold recipes that you use often in the kitchen
-use a picture frame as a serving tray for cocktails
... and many more.

I started reading Real Simple pretty much from day 1, but I haven't enjoyed it as much recently.  No offence to the new editor (who's been there for almost 2 years I guess), but i haven't liked it as much since the switch.  I think it used to be a little more edgy, but now i think it's more ultra conservative.  I find a lot of things in it really obvious, and I don't like the short cuts that the recipes are based on a lot of the time.  I really don't like that they automatically renewed my subscription before I had a chance to cancel it...

Anyway, I have enjoyed the last few issues more though, so maybe things are getting better.  And in general the magazine does have some inspiring craft ideas in it.

I checked out this magazine a few times and just tried to subscribe but they don't ship ouside US and Canada  Sad.

Would anyone happen to have this month's online access code for single issue buyers?

I have found it to be kinda hit or miss.  Some issues have a lot of great ideas...and others are just eye candy.  Because of this...I stick to buying it off the rack after a quick once-over.  Probably cheaper in the long run than subscribing given my purchase/put back ratio.
