Oh man, I got awesome stuff from bigmouth!

she sent me:
-2 books with everything you need to know about the episodes
-a simpsons comic pouch thing
-block hair ties with lisa, bart, maggie and homer
-a bart chalkboard hair tie
-a big crochet hook with homer fumbling with yarn decoupaged on it
-the same pic on a keychain with 'mmmm... crafty' on the back.
-a decoupaged trinket box with pictures of all the simpsons ALL over it! the outside has an xray of the crayon in homer's brain, the box was filled with crayons (so funny!!) and the bottom pic has him getting it put back in. i love it.

and there's also this iron transfer shirt with 'NSYNC when they were special guests on the show! it's really awesome. there might be something i'm forgetting, so i'll post pics later!!

I got great stuff from Morning Star, too, but I can't get photos to upload yet on the Craftster picture host.
She sent me:
*Ipod Shuffle cozy on an armband, so I can wear it while working out!  I'm super-excited about this.  It's white and it has Ralph Wiggum quotes on it!   Cheesy
*A bonus crocheted Shuffle cozy that's crocheted in blue-white-yellow (very Simpson colors) cotton.  Really nice.
*A notebook covered in Simpsons pictures and images, some of which she drew herself (I could never do that).
*A Lisa wristlet, with a handpainted picture of Lisa thinking about the poor, poor lamb (the Lisa-goes-veg episode).  If I had painted that, it would have looked like the Raisin Bran sun thinking about a sad cloud--but Morning Star did it perfectly!
*A "make a Lisa necklace" kit with instructions.  She read my posts and found out that I'm trying to get into jewelry making--I've asked for jewelry supplies & instructions in a couple of swaps.  She also sent some extra beads & such along for the ride.  That was really sweet.
*And speaking of paying attention to my posts... She sent it all in a box she made out of a record album jacket.  I love things made from records & record jackets, and I'm totally keeping the box!  Smiley

Can't wait to be able to post photos.  I'm planning on a true action shot for the Ipod armband!

yay! i want an action shot. i'm glad it fits. i used a little pack of gum as a guide.

i drew ned on the back of the notebook. i traced a little bit of his head, but i ended up fixing it. i can't believe i did that, though!

The Craftster picture host finally let me upload again, so here's a photo of the stuff I got from Morning Star (well, most of it, anyway):

When will I learn, once and for all, to put the large items in the back of the picture and the smaller items in front?  Anyway, everything's leaning on the record jacket box she made to send it all in.  There's the crochet Ipod cozy, the Lisa wristlet (lined in a funky flower fabric), the "Lisa necklace" kit (with extra beads of different types--thanks!), and the covered notebook.

I'll get a shot of the back of the notebook later.  It's got lots of great Ned Flanders quotes on it.  Also, the Ipod armband action shot is still waiting to be taken.  I keep finding myself with my camera, or Ipod, but never both at the right time.  D'oh!

Here's the back of the notebook Morning Star sent:

It has some great Ned Flanders quotes that I'd forgotten entirely.  How could I have forgotten about "neglectorinos"Huh
And, oh yeah, the Ipod armband is sitting there, too.  It's got Ralph Wiggum-isms.  On the front is "I Choo-Choo-Choose you!"  And the back has the quote about the berries that "tasted like burning."  I love that quote.

Here's the Ipod armband action shot:

Sorry it's blurry--but, hey, it's an action shot!   Smiley

Thanks, Morning Star!

If you're interested, I think I still have the file on my computer.  If you have MS Publisher, I could probably email it to you if you want it.  PM me if you do.   Smiley

Oh my god you guys made such cool stuff!! Everything looks so great!!

Anyway, the holidays brought me to a grinding halt and I am now just playing catch up!!

Here is what I sent to LilliVanilla (aka our lost swapper)

I sent her some magnets, and bookmarks; and since she is a knitter I made Blinky needles and character stitch markers and then I picked up the bag in Sydney Australia while there for work, and sent it to be a knitting bag... here's a closer shot

Now, my dear sweet angel sent me this great package...

The book is Edgar Allen Poe poems and she has altered it so cool with the collage cover, new end sheets and "Eat my shorts" bookmark. I LOVE THIS BOOK!! I have shown it to everyone, THIS IS LIKE THE MOST PERFECT THING IN THE WORLD. And then the stitch markers Kick Ass and I have already used them, they are just too cool!!!!

Even though I lost my partner, this ended up being a very cool swap - THANKS!!

cejaypi--
I'm so delighted that you like the book so much.  I saw that the "Raven" episode was your favorite, and I knew immediately what I wanted to do.  I never altered a book or made stitch markers before, so I felt quite accomplished when I finished those things.  For another swap, hertrigger sent me a bunch of random beads, and I loved that I had just the right letter beads to spell "HOMER."

That stuff you sent is great.  I have to second Morning Star about the Blinky knitting needles.  Those are fantastic.  Did we have the same idea of making pouches from Simpsons comics to contain the smaller items???

Anyone still up for a Simpsons Swap round 2? I have the yummiest idea for a hat...I've just been dying to make it, but a swap would be a perfect opportunity to make some rocking simpsons crafts! I missed the first one as I hadn't joined craftster yet.  Grin
