matuta, I really like that card. It looks much more... professional than mine did. Very nice. I think I'm going to do something very similar, just because I don't want to just take what you made, ya know? But thank you.

Since you like it so much than yes you can use it plus it wouldn't be fair of me to offer help only to take it away. BUT ... and here is the but ... would you mind if I used it as part of my portfolio? I really like how it came out too!


** I don't know if you want to use the actual one that I did but the file size that I posted is so small that I doubt it is useable. Let me know if you need the original file in which case I'd need a bigger file in jpg for the "Zombie Love ... email .... etc .... etc......" minus the blue line around.

Seeing the bag isn't enough for me. If you're going to use your card as a real communications tool, use actual contact information and descriptive words. No one wants to guess about what you do. Business cards contain your NAME, phone, web, email, fax if you have it, and a brief description of what you do (Beautiful custom crochet, for example).

You could have the most beautiful card in the world, but if it doesn't have enough information on it to remember you later, you should just save your time and money.

Actually the pic on the card is not a bag. It is just the beginning of a circle of a hat that I had started but most likely was not going to finish. Anyways I worked on the info that itsnikki provided which was that it was mainly going to be crocheted items .... hats, scarves and purses which is why i chose to include a picture (the starting of a project) to give a visual explanation that her items are crochet. And while I do agree that she needs to include other information, I understand why she wouldn't necessarily want to post her phone number etc here where anyone could get it. I did offer itsnikki  to include any other information like how javastain suggested her  'girly crocheted goodies for the Zombie in you' .
And I don't agree totally with the the having the most beautiful card and not enough information won't get you business. I have collected tons of cards from craft and art shows and the first ones that I look up on the web later on are the ones that show me what they are about, especially when in a day you could see hundreds of people selling "art" if it weren't for the illustration of their work how could you distinguish between all the cards that just said Joe Blow - Artist?
I think you need a balance but in no way do you have to overexplain your work or include such personal information especially when you might be working from home. I work from home doing such things as invitations, baby announcements and business identities and having 2 young kids I don't include a phone number or fax. I am really good at responding on email alone and I think lots of people that do businesses from home on a part time basis don't need people calling them at all hours. It's different when you have a business location or store that people can come to.

anyways ... hope it explains some of the decisions that I made while designing the card. I'd love to see one that you came up with, maybe ideas could be meshed to come up with something better for itsnikki.
