Thanks Grin I feel much better about it. The inside of the purse didnt really have "fabric" and I didnt add any. (I can't really sew--- shhhh!) The sparkles are actual glitter I glued to the inside with 527 cement.

I got my bag back from SparkleHorse today!! I'm sorry that this sets the bar so high future bag swaps can't even dream of obtaining results like these.... I took a bunch of pictures because I was SO EXCITED about the bag. If you dont want to look at all of my pics, tough- close your eyes  Tongue

I FREAKIN LOVE THE BAG!!! Honestly, If I saw it in a store I would pay way too much for it. I can't believe what SparkleHorse has done. It's perfect and I now have no need for any other purse. (Except the rad bag Alison made me for http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=58952.20)

This is the canvas mess that I sent to SparkleHorse (ugh why did I buy such a bag?)

And if you can believe it; This my friends is what came back to me:

The back:

The front in action:

But the fun doesnt stop there. Each pocket had something in it!!!
Soap, nail polish, my favorite gum, a candy cane and a cute lipstick holder with mirror.

SO I'm totally in love. But the real test is the cat stamp of approval:
"it smells good"

"it feels good"

"I'm afraid this bag now belongs to me, Gabey the cat"

So there she blows. This swap has been AWESOME. I LOVE MY BAG. Round 2's got a lot to live up to....

That is a completely amazing transformation!! I love how she just fearlessly snipped off the straps and made it more pursey. The color is fantastic, too! Love it! Love it! Love it!

Great job!!!

As you sew, so shall you rip. Don't fear the ripper.

I can't even believe that is the same bag!!!

Rit Dye + seam ripper + black tassel fringies = no more brown canvas backpack!

(When I was in high school, I was, like, Queen of all things dyeable. Cool 80's black jeans not black enough? RIT DYE!! Don't have a hot pink pair of pants to match your shirt? RIT DYE!)

Anyways, I had this idea for a gypsy-inspired bag, something dark and sort of bohemian. And I wanted to take the weird tattoo of numbers off the front, too.  Actually, I had about 2 more feet of tassel fringies but...I restrained myself.

Can I just say...this has been SO FUN!!!!  This is my first swap and I'm so happy! I got a great swap partner and I managed to not totally eff up the project.

*sigh* I heart craftster.

"But why don't you scream now?" Alice asked, holding her hands ready to put over her ears again.

"Why, I've done all the screaming already," said the Queen. "What would be the good of having it all over again?"
