I had these two BEAUTIFUL balls of Blue Sky Alpaca Bulky Duotone in oranges and I came up with this combination of stitches on US35 needles to make a yummy mega scarf in an hour.  So simple yet satisfying...

the whole thing

detail of the turkish stitch and best example of the true color

self taken photo of me wearing it (unfortunately not full length)

If interested, this is all I did:
co 11 st w/long tail cast on using VERY bulky yarn and US35 needles
knit one entire row
     then pattern repeat:
row 1: k2, *yo, slip1, k1, psso* 4 times, k1
row 2: p to last stitch, k1
repeat these two rows until almost out of yarn (or desired length)
knit one more entire row
bo loosely

et voila!

That's beautiful! I've been meaning to check out BSA's bulky yarns. And considering how many Christmas projects I have left to complete and how crunched for time I am, this project might come in handy the night before I have to mail my boxes out...  Smiley Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the cool pattern!  The scarf looks luscious Tongue  I love working with chunky yarns like that.

It's awesome.  I love orange, and big needles and bulky yarn. I also really like your table runner.

Thanks guys!  Fun and easy is how I like it...

And the tablerunner?!  Scored last week at the West Elm store marked down from $35 to $7!  It is fabric on fabric with wonky zig zag stitching on it.  Maybe they have it at their online store?  Oops!  Just checked and they are listing it at $25!  Call a store and they have it for$7.  Some kind of racket...
