ok - I'm totally confused. Maybe I don't know how to do crochet increases correctly. But I got to the instructions for the first row and it just didn't sound right to me.

Help?

going to look up crochet increases now, but I thought you just did 2 stitches in one chain.

I just found this pattern and decided to try it (it is my first try at a garment) and I'm just a couple rows past joining the sleeves together.
I can't believe how easy this pattern is and how beautifully it is fitting!..... I did reread it a few times to make sure I understood it before I started.
Don't be scared off of this pattern if you are a beginner.
Thank you miyoko79 for this wonderful pattern and also to julsey 723 for the original knitted version!

animegirlie: The increases are correct.
You are basically doing 2 stitches into one....but it is a slight variation where you are also chaining 2 before you do that second stitch.
This way it makes those lovely lacy holes.
I'm also going to tackle the knitted version although I'm even more of a beginner in knitting.
