Decoupage help

I need help with a decoupaged spiral sketchbook that I am working on for a friend. I know he likes to draw and that he is a "typical 14 year old boy" and that he likes anime but I have no clue what to put on the sketchbook...I could ask him but it would ruin the surprise. Please help me...

well, if you really want to know what kind of anime he is into i suggest saying to him;
"hey, you're watching anime all the time, and, i want to know a bit about it, so could you tell/show me your favourties so i can get into it?"

might work, that is only if you havent said you HATE it

Go to the comic book shop and ask the counter worker what the hottest manga is right now.   Specifiaclly manga based on popular anime.   Buy some of what he suggests, and use that.
