I want to join a swap but don't want to dissapoint any one or mess it up( as clint eastwood says" a man's gotta know his limitations" so does a woman and a crafter). I keep looking but am overwhelmed. Any ideas?

try the unconditional swap. you can pick what you want to make for whoever. of course, it's not guaranteed that you're going to get picked back but that's why it's unconditional.

also... hmmm... one of the ongoing swaps (#5 right now) is good, that way you also have a pick of what you are going to make for someone and in the ongoing swap you do get picked and someone will make something for you. just make sure you read and understand the rules first.

Not sure what kind of crafting you like to do, but you might look for swaps that are more about swapping materials than a finished item(s).  I mostly do paper crafts (but I'm trying to "diversify my portfolio"), so I have done a swap of paper & ephemera stuff that ppl send from their personal stashes of papery supplies.  That's easy!  If you do ATCs, then those swaps are usually easy and quick.

Just jump in and have fun.

Yes, I could see the image of your cool "Corpse Bride" box.  Looks clever!
