My daughter got a pair of guinea pigs for Christmas. So I made fleece cage liners, a cozy (with ute little sock monkeys) and a little stuffed guinea pig.

Cute stuffed critter!

As far as the real animals go, my youngest sister had a guinea pig when we were kids, and I don't have very fond memories of it.  She was noisy and pretty stinky (although, granted, that's probably largely because my sister was less-than-diligent about keeping her habitat cleaned and changing her bedding).  I prefer gerbils, hamsters, or mice/rats (in that order) when it comes to pet rodents.  I hope that you, and your daughter, have a better experience with your pair.
