Well I saw these matchboxes in an art gallery giftshop once that had pictures of famous people on them with glitter and such and I REALLY liked them.   But, since I don't have a color printer I can't really do that.  So I did my own thing, used magazine pictures, and this is what I came up with:

side 1

side 2

When I run out of matches I'm going to store tiny things in it like glitter and buttons and such.  Or I might make it into a tiny shrine.  I'm also thinking of giving these as christmas gifts.   Grin

for christmas one year i sent out matchboxes that i covered in wrapping paper and then put stickers and paper confetti (sp) and a little happy holidays note inside and they were my christmas "cards"
they cost a little more than a card to send (since they were bulky) but the response i got from everyone totally made it worth it  Grin

(sorry the picture is so blurry, i cant believe i even still had a pic)

I got mine at a dollar store.  They come with the matches but you can just take them out.    Wink

That Umbrella number is adorable, and that's a very nice idea. There is a place in my neighbourhood where kids get pin-up girl match boxes, but they end up strewn all over the city and left in other's apartments when the matches are gone. Poor Pin up girls!
