Yay!   My first tutorial!   It's nothing terribly original, Megaknits taught me how to do it.

Tissue paper with an image on it (I used Victoria Secret Tissue paper, but you could just stamp an image)
Blank candle
Heating tool or blowdryer
Wax paper

Step 1

Rip out a tissue paper image...

Step 2

Place the tissue image against the candle and tightly wrap wax paper around the candle.

Step 3

Turn on your heating tool and aim it at your tissue image.   Watch the tissue seem to "melt away'... after a while you won't see the tissue paper anymore (btw... taking this picture was awkward!)

Step 4

Remove wax paper

oh my gosh, this is so easy... and it looks so great in the end.... One question, do you have to use a hairdryer... or would something (like a heater that blows out heat) work ok too...?? i only ask cause my hairdryer broke ages ago.. and i dont have use for one now... and i dont wanna buy a new one...!!

ElevenOne: I think that a heater that blows out heat would work too... if you held it really close.   I used my embossing heater and I've used my hairdryer that I got for $5 on Target Clearance.

Shimmers:  I'm pretty sure the tissue paper melts into the candle.   I'm going to try it with pink paper and see what happens...

Cool!  I'm interested in how the pink tissue paper candle turns out.

I've never made one (I plan to change that) but I would think any tissue paper left on the candle has a layer of wax from the wax paper covering it. I imagine it's as safe as any decorated candle..like the ones with dried flowers and what-not.

Ooooh I can't wait to try this!
