I made this a few yrs ago when I couldn't find a wrist pincushion that wasn't uncomfortable. I made it kinda 60 ish cause I was on this mod kick. Its just 2 felts circles, batting, and a circle of leather,  to stop the needles from going thru, the felt circles came from a bag of hundreds I got for a dime at the junk store, I just embroidered them down.

hmm hot glue jk...I forgot to mention I used a strip of elastic (lingerie elastic cause its soft) I just measured my wrist and then used another piece of felt to sew it to the pincushion, the leather is important so you don't prick yourself ( I have also made my daughter one using the lid of a pringles can instead of the leather, I used an exacto knife to cut off the small lip and then used the plastic circle as template to cut out the felt circles, then used the plastic circle in placeof the leather.

i know this is so dumb, but i just want to make sure i've got it right.

it goes (pin top to wrist)
pins/needles----felt circle-stuffing-leather circle-felt circle-little piece o' felt-elastic----wrist

yes?  no?

btw, the colors and design are way cooler than any cushion you'd find in a store, regardless if it fit.

yes, and I went thru my vintage craft books and found the book I got the idea from... if you make one I wanna see it.... do you think these would make a good swap idea?
heres the underside of mine ..when use stuff yours use cotton balls and stuff it really firm, the polyester batting doesnt get as dense for some reason..btw the scans where at 50% of the original size...
and scans from the vintage magazine I got the idea from..

and the pattern
