Hi everyone, My name is Kim, I'm 37, a mum to one daughter who is 15, and I live in Sydney, Australia.
I've been lurking about for a few weeks now, checking out all the great stuff/tutorials/pics. It's been said a thousand times before and will be again, but everyone here is SO talented and friendly, it's really cool!

Anyway, one of the first things I saw was Jordy's great tutorial on the square bag, so it's what I did this afternoon. I made 2 but the first I kinda stuffed up cos I sewed the lining in wrong LOL! But I unpicked it and I will put it back together tomorrow, but here is the other one I did. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Btw, this isn't the first thing I've sewed, I've made some pants and a couple of tops before, but this is my first time trying a bag.

This time it has everything I normally carry in any other hand bag I have.

Thanks alot Jordy, it really is a great bag and so easy to make Cheesy

Hi Kim and Welcome!

You did a great job on the bag - very nice for your first attempt!  Smiley  I like the "wild" fabric that you used.  Please post the other bag that you did and any others you may do - we'd love to see them!  And I agree with you - everyone here is sooooo talented and creative.   Glad you joined! Cheesy

I love leopard printed anything too, and the red lining is a great contrast, its funny how 80's stuff is coming in vogue again...my 15 yo stole all my 80's tshirts and earrings out of my closet, they are the in thing at school now, its kinda weird seing her in my candies shoes with the big hair and chunky earrings.

Some of the 80's stuff needs to STAY in the 80's though hahaha!
I thought the red looked cool too, so thanks Cheesy

Thank you Cheesy

The leopard print is left over from a couple of aprons I made for myself and a work mate, something different you know? It will also be incorporated into our chef's jackets I am about to start on as well, which I will post pics of in the proper forum too.

Thanks alot for all your cool comments ladies, much appreciated!

No! No pockets YET!!! LOL! I will probably attempt pockets and stuff on another bag.
I also want to try and make a Jordy with a zip in the top, cos my bags always seem to end up on the floor of my car and everything spills out :| Haha!
