Hi there!  I just moved to Port Orchard and I was wondering if there is any SNB here or other place for crafty chicks to get together...I love to knit mostly, but I also sew and paint sometimes.  Write back!

I Lived in Port Orchard for three-four years during high school; my parents still live there and I visit ocassionaly. Not to be negative, but I reccomend you leave as soon as possible! Being a retirement area, transitonal for military and a handful of rich, commuting  professionals "getting away from the city" makes for a group lacking creativity, much less for any sort of community. It was alright for me because I was in high school, went to lots of shows, made friends out of the area etc etc. Are you going to South Kitsap High school? If so, You could probably start a knitting club on campus - i'm not sure how many kids would come, but it's worth a shot.

Hope to hear back from you about how you're doing in the orchard!

Cheers,
Danielle.

XD You should definately consider Danielle's notion. I live nearby Port Orchard [not really close to Port Orchard... I actually live right by Central Kitsap Junior High/High School] and there's not much there. Or where I live. I love St. Vincent's thrift store, that's my favorite thing in Port Orchard. There's a great store here in Silverdale by the library, that sells really good quality yarns, but the prices are pretty steep [my mom knits/crochets, and she went there to get me started on it, the prices scared me away.. At least she was paying for my yarn.. XD].
You wrote this post a while ago, how are you doing now? Are you still in Port Orchard?
