Both are very awesome.  Denise needles because they are a delight to work with, and for 50 bucks you have every needle you need for most projects.  Addi turbos are expensive, but SO great to knit with. I'd go with the Denise needles first, then fill in Addi Turbos as you go Smiley

I like metal needles, because I knit really tight and when I use bamboo I can almost hear them breaking Undecided . I actually learned on plastic needles, but when I knit with them now I feel like they are WAy too flexable and like bending all over the place, lol. I am also one of those people that likes the click-click of the needles, it is what I think of when I think of knitting! I have never used DPNs or circulars they both sound really scary to me, but I supose that I will evetually have to pluck up the courage to try them out. But yeah I like metal, it just seems like the knitting goes faster on the metal ones, also like someone else said I leave my needles laying on the floor to much, the poor wood ones wouldn't stand a chance Roll Eyes
