You beat me to it!  I just finished a batch of cookies and I was gonna post a pic... well, as soon as they're done anyway.  The second tray is in the oven.  And two cookies needed, ahem, testing for poison, and have jumped ship into my stomach.   Grin

yay! post more cookies!!

Here's one of my specialties...

Pumpkin chocolate chip.  Heaven, I say.  This is 1/4 the recipe... it makes somewhere around 6 dozen.  This is roughly a dozen and a half.

close up:

And I just had to check to make sure it was good... for safety.  Always eat your cookies for safety of the others that will eat them.   Wink

They don't look as good as those ginger cookies, though... those look soooo good.

Enjoy!

It's all in the photography. I turned my camera to close up mode to catch all of the gingery goodness.

BTW - I usually make giant cookies 'cause it usually takes less time to bake... The ginger cookie recipe makes several dozen with the little scoop, but makes roughly 12 with the big scoop. Two trips in the oven then :poof: one dozen huge cookies.

I'll probably start making things with pumpkin soon. I make a mean pumpkin cake. The Moosewood Restaurant New Classics book has a pretty nice pumpkin cookie recipe along with two pumpkin muffin variations. I think that the last time i made these I acutally used the processed innards of our jack-o-lanterns. Man, it was a pain in the butt. I'll use canned any day!

I didn't get to bake this afternoon Sad  sammyb, I've never had pumpkin chocolate chip cookies before...but they look delish though!   MirthFairy, the oatmeal cookies look divine!

BTW, I wanted to check with you guys.  For this swap, are we limited to baking festive cookies (snowballs, iced sugar cookies in festive shapes, rum balls, etc), i.e. no chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, etc.?

I would rather get all types of cookies and really don't wanna be limited to festive type cookies. The recipes I have for cute cut out cookies tend to tast a bit like cardboard Embarrassed My jam filled spritz cookies are very good though... I also like snickerdoodles.

Anyways, chocolate chip OMG cookies are a family holiday tradition. (they called OMG cookies because when Grandma took them out of the oven we realized she had forgotten about a whole cup of flour which made them flatten out into soft, chewy, candy-like cookies. She exclaimed "OH MY GAWWWD!!")

I prefer non festive cookies. I'm not into food coloring, preservatives and artificial stuff. I would be very happy with a simple chocolate, mint or ginger cookie over food colored decorative cookies.

That's cool with me Smiley  Why is it that iced cookies invariably are nice to look at but horrid to eat?!?  I'm definitely not a fan of what I call "Crisco Icing"!  Some of my favorite cookies are brown sugar shortbread dipped in chocolate and nuts, peanut-butter filled chocolate cookies, oatmeal walnut toffee cookies, triple layer brownies, and lemon bars.  Yeah, I'm a cookie whore *sigh*

I guess the bottom line is this...I'll make whatever my swap partner craves Wink

I will eat chocolate frosting and whipped cream frosting (such as that put on Target bakery cakes) but I will not eat icing.  I makes my teeth hurt and feel gross.

Those are always the prettiest cookies, though...
