thanks for all your compliments! We just got back from our weekend away and had a brilliant time. There were 20 people in all (I only knew the birthday girl and my boy), who were a really great bunch, the house was gorgeous (a twelth century inn that was "modernised" in 1639 before being restored after WWII), Saturday night's meal was world class, and the booze was excellent and plentiful.

The men all looked dashing in their tuxes and all of us girls ended up wearing black dresses which looked great. I got lots of compliments on the black ruffly part and my gloves (which I didn't make and have had for years, btw!).

We mostly let the photography to those much keener than us, but here's two my boyfriend got on his camera of the dress in its natural habitat!

Taken much later on the dancefloor after I'd found a pink boa in the house's dressing up box (the night before a black riding hat and my head were inseparable!)
