Telling hubby/parents about pregnancy

my husband knew before i did because, according to him, i changed and got annoyed with him easier.

We've been trying for a few years and are scheduled for IVF in September. But, when we started trying I bought three spatulas- one pink, one blue, and one small yellow one. My hubby used to be a chef, so I plan to put these in the thing on the kitchen counter and see how long it takes him to notice.

i didnt even need to tell my husband - he figured it out within maybe 2 weeks of conception. and it wasn't because of a late period, because i'm fairly erratic with those.  he just knew.  there was no morning sickness either (none at all thank God!)

My BIL and SIL just had a girl about 2 months ago, and we figured we'd give her a Christmas gift (assuming we're preggo by then) that says, "You'll have to learn to share this, because your cousin will need it next year." or something like that.

Couple years ago, after all the gifts had been exchanged, my SIL handed out cards to all of us, telling us we had to open them together.

Mine was a Christmas card to "my aunt," my husband's addressed to "my uncle," inlaws to "grandma" and such... etc...

Mucho squealing occured when we opened the cards!

I love all your ideas!  And congrats to everyone who's prego now or has already had their baby. 

I'm due April 30 and have been waiting to tell our families until my mom's birthday which is Sept. 30.  My mom and dad are coming to visit along with my grandmother and her boyfriend.  I got the sweetest frame from Hallmark with the saying "A great mom gets promoted to Gramma" and I'll put a copy of our ultrasound picture in it.  I am so excited and can hardly wait until this weekend to tell them!

We're going to tell his parents next weekend and haven't come up with any ideas yet.  They're kind of boring though so we'll probably just tell them and not do anything cute.   

I will be 9 1/2 weeks on Sat. 9/30 and will probably tell them to keep it under wraps for a few more weeks, just to be sure.  I've got more health concerns so don't want to tell too many people before the first trimester is (safely) over.

man i love all the great ideas. i'd like to surprise my husband too but by the time we start trying i will probably be too antsy/excited to not tell! at first it was just me who wanted a baby soon but now he does too. which makes it hard because i am determined to graduate college first. so we are trying to hold out! keep the ideas coming...we live in a different state than our family so some of these crafty ideas wouldn't work, though.

  i settled on making holiday cards with photocopies of the first ultrasound on the front and sending them out with just a cryptic "season's greetings" written inside.  few family members thought it was as humorous as i.

Okay, I realize that I'm waaaay late to this thread, but I just found out I'm pregnant (finally) & was looking for a neat way to tell our parents.  Sammyb, that movie trailer is such an awesome idea, how in the world did you make that?  Please share, we would love to borrow your idea (if you don't mind)!
