I finally conquered this pattern. I tried to make this hat when I first started knitting, and it was out of my league with all the wrap and turns. So a few years later, it caught my eye again, and here she is complete. I jazzed it up a bit with a crocheted edge and a couple flowers so it didn't look like an epilepsy helmet. (When I put it on without embellishments, I put it on and I immediately thought of Garden State.) Hope you like it. Grin

It's beautiful!
Do you have a close up?  I'd love to see the texture closer up.

I always feel like a little Dutch girl wearing it so I pinned up the sides to really work the dutch angle

To answer ttchica's question the pattern and many others can be found at this website: http://www.headhuggers.org

There are a few more examples of it here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16523.0

I know because I made one too!

The texture doesn't show up too well with the dark yarn, but it's very close to the picture in the pattern. The dark grey also added to it's helmetyness (I made a new word, yay!), but the pink picked it right up. It's a pretty quick knit too.
