I made a cardigan using this tutorial as a foundation.  The thread is here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16741694.0

I really like that eyelet and seed stitch one!

well, i just went through ALL the posts (slow day!) and no one has attempted to make a lacy type one. i have beautiful yarn ive been waiting to use from italy, and i think if i did it regular, it would be a little elacy. do you think it would look all right?

Do you mean that your yarn is kind of thin, so that if you knit it using the size needles recommended for the project, that it would be lacy?  Honestly, I'm not sure how that would work out.  You would probably want to do a gauge swatch, because it may end up being to small if your yarn is rather thin, even if you use the same size needles.  You could also try double-stranding the yarn if you have enough, or double-stranding with a coordinating yarn.  Good luck!

I finished this a few months ago, but just got around to taking a picture of it.  I used Bernat Solo (the acrylic is too HOT for summer!) and knitted it down to a full sized-sweater, with crocheted ties at the middle.  I think I should have started the ribbing at the bottom a little lower -- maybe I'll go back and fix it sometime.  maybe not.
