okay, i finally got around to making this again, and it actually fits me!
i used malabrigo, 2 hanks of perla and size 9 needle. i made it waist length, but i do plan to make more that will be the regular length.

i loves it, and will be wearing it frequently.thanks jules for the pattern!!
thanks for looking!

nice work fenifer! I really like your yarn choice!

Ok, so I joined the bandwagon, and hijacked my old thread back to post an FO (how strange is that?) I decided that the original capelet needed a makeover. In fact, it wasn't really a capelet anyway (by design a capelet is a short cape...since it has sleeves, it is a SHRUG or a BOLERO!)...

Anyhoo,  I gained a few pounds since 2005 (shame on me!), and realized I wasn't going to wear a sweater that showed off my least fave asset (tummy), so I added a LOT of length, and some button bands with the rest of the yarn I bought (in 2005) for this project...

Keep on knitting capelet-sters! FYI, this is the most viewed thread in the craftster completed projects forum (aside from sticky posts)!!!

I am a beginner knitter and find that there is no gauge and pand size.  Ca you help me and make things a little simpler and give me the sizes and gauge.

I   love the shrug and would love  to make it in cotton for the summer.

Thanks,
Barbara

This type of sweater is knit from the top down and increased until it fits you. Start with measuring the neck and figure how many sts that is, times how many sts/inch you get with your gauge. CO an odd amount, and mostly just follow the pattern.

How nice to see a post from you, Julsey.  You are an inspiration to us and your designs are great - easy to follow and they look great.  No wonder this is one of the "most viewed" threads.

ETA:  Now, if only Jordy would come back to the Purses group ...

Thanks Betty Bat! It's good to be back...

I haven't done any design (or imposter) work in a long time...I've spent the past few years knitting other people's patterns...and dyeing yarn sporadically...

I'm still completely amazed about this pattern's success...Craftsters RAWK!

Interestingly enough, there is an extremely similar pattern on this website: http://www.oneskeinwonders.com/patterns/shrug.php
