i started this the day leah posted what the next challange would be. 140 squares. about 12 pairs of jeans
i decided i wanted to do something i could add to and make it personal. i got the idea from the quilts my mom is making my brother and i. she is going to iron on childhood photos. i did not want to do pictures on it but i thought about writing things that were personal to me. there are some quotes, my birthdate, names of pets and some doodles. talk about fun with a bleach pen. i also used sharpie markers. my dad gave me 2 pairs of his jeans and the rest were eaither too small or had holes in them so they were in a box in the back of my closet. (thank you daddy) i used the worn out hole in some of his old work jeans as the center piece for some of the squares. you may be able to see them in some of the pics.
this is what i started with

this is the finished product( my cat decided to investigate)

That's pretty cool!  It looks like it would be a good project to do with kids.

This is such a great project! It would be great just to make a huge one and then embellish it over several years to mark a specfic period like college.
