I would love to know if anyone else would be interested in a choliday cookie swap! I am excited to make a bunch this year...we could each make  4 dozen and send a dosen to 4 different people...then, in the end we would have 4 dozen cookies that were different. the only requirements I can think of is that is must be US only and that the cookies MUST be something special...decorated or difficult to make (like biscotti) or something to distinquish them from any random holiday cookie you can get at the grocery store. we could have them mailed so that they arrive a week before x-mas so they can be consumed all week long to get into the spirit! so...anyone intersted??

This is a very interesting idea to me.  Do cookies mail well?  I have never tried to mail food before.

I used to mail cookies from Ohio to Sanfrancisco all the time...they sent well...you just have to write fragile on the box and pack them well...hope the mailperson takes care of your package...but cookies aren't going to get stale or anything the few days it takes in transit. at least that's the experience I've had.

I love this idea, although I don't make any fancy decorated cookies... I'm a fan of the "scoop and drop" cookies, mainly because I've recently discovered my love for a cookie scoop.

My cookies are holiday-flavored (-themed?), though.  Would that count?

of course! I love my cookie scoop too...such a wonderful invention! I was a baker for years and it was the one thing I took from the job that I love-well and all the knowledge! my favorite holiday cookies are scoope cookies also...but there's a special surprise inside to make em special. mmm...my mouth is watering just thinking about sweets now!

I make the same two cookie recipes each year, and I'm CRAVING one of them right now...

The swap I'm in ends 11/16, so I'd love to sign up as long as I'm able to at the time!  Let me know if this happens.

Also, would it be four dozen, as in four varieties of one dozen each, or four dozen of one variety?  or our pick?

well-that would be up to you...i think the easiest way would be to make 4 dozen of the same kind and in return you end up with 4 different kinds from other people. btw...I used the number 4 as a guess...when people start signing up I will probably put them into small groups...4-5 people...so depending on how many people sign up is how many cookies you'll have to make. sound good?

girlwonder, this is a grand idea!  A cookie swap...yum! Smiley  I would love to do this swap but baking 4 dozen cookies and sending them out to 4 different people takes quite a bit of organization (especially during the holidays)!  Is there any chance of a mini cookie swap, where you bake 2 (or 4!) dozen cookies and send it out to one person?  Also, it might be good thing to try and pair folks up by distance (same state or neighboring states) so that the cookies arrive quickly Smiley  Just a few thoughts...

I am so excited for this.

My recipe makes 6 dozen... so looks like I'll have to cut it down a bit, or suffer the consequences of having 9000 cookies in the house!

PM me when this swap happens--I love this idea!

Hell, I just love cookies!  (as evident by my waistline...  Wink)
