Hi these are two bags I made recently. The man bag is for my friend Anthony's birthday (maths teacher) & the rucksack is for my sister who will be 11 soon who loves pink. Both made from cord, I used printable fabric for the calculator detail on the front of the man bag. Found a great website with loads of pictures old school calculators  Shocked. I did make a pencil case to go with my sisters bag but I put the zip in the wrong way round  Roll Eyes I'll have to try again !!

Oh wow, these are both so cute!  I love the calculator bag the most!  Did you come up with your own pattern?  Feel like sharin'?

Hi Archer of Loaf & mel-my-issa this is the tut I based my man bag on

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=2684.0

I made my own pattern for both bags, the rucksack is very similar but I gave it curved corners and the gusset is all one piece.

I used this tut for the pocket

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11808.0

and all the straps are made the jordy way

The printable fabric I got from here

http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/cotton%20fabric%20sheets.htm

I made the bag so they can at least hold a A4 folder

Thank you for your great comments, they are super nice  Grin
