Thank you for all the kind compliments!  To make the jacket I altered a 1950's doublebreasted, cropped jacket pattern.  I really have no idea how else I could explain this jacket... in order to fashion it properly I spent three months on it, from drafting the pattern, to fitting a muslin, to tailoring the garment itself.

oh my god Shocked... I have been drooling over that jacket for months but it's way too expensive for me
I must say your jacket is very very close to the real one, bravo!!! (I actually tried on the real thing at Holt Renfrew in Toronto and love it a lot...picture is also available on http://www.smythelesvestes.com/ for anyone else who is interested)
Please, please do post a tutorial....

...btw if you're looking for a new project, may I suggest the Smythe sailor jacket? It's on the website too.

Wow! Thanks so much for the link!!!  I looked forever for that website, to no avail...

I do like the challenge of jackets, so I might do another soon, inspired by Cynthia Steffe, Beth Bowley, or just something vintage.  I do have 3 yards of camel hair waiting to be turned into a winter coat though, so we'll see how that goes!

That's awesome. I love the scarf, too - is that Knitty's Branching Out? It looks great in turquoise.

It is Knitty's branching out!  I made it with Knitpicks' shine twist- I thought i'd try the lace knitting with cotton, for a change
