I know that some flowers are edible, but are rose petals? If so, I have a bread recipe from a zine(unbound Books, Vegan Potluck Cookzine #3) that could be added to it, titled Bread and Roses...(well, maybe just bread.) I just thought that why not add the petals to the bread to make it actually like the title.

roses are edible, though some are better tasting than others.  generally i find the small-petaled tea roses to have a sweeter taste...just like hothouse flowers have less scent, the showier flowers add less to  flavor...though i've only had roses candied, never in bread.

as with all flowers - make sure you're getting flowers that haven't been treated with pesticides.
There are special distributors of edible flowers that make sure there are no nasty chemicals in them, but I haven't looked into it too carefully.  If you grow your own and don't use pesticides, you're golden!
