I want to be in a particular swap really really bad, but I haven't hit the month point yet.  Is there ANY way I can still participate?

I understand the idea behind this restriction, but I'm not flakey!

maybe there will be a round 2?

unfortunately, the rule is there for a reason, so it shouldn't really be changed, even if the organizer wants to. sometimes there's flexibility if you're within a day or two, but anything other than that, the organizer shouldn't be allowing you to participate.

i wanted to be in a swap when i first joined.. the swap was still in "discussion" but they planned it around the time that my ends was going to be up.

i asked leah when i first joined about flexing the rules.. she said that you can SIGN UP at anytime.. but as long as the sign up dates are OVER after your month is up then its fine Smiley

i would suggest maybe asking the oragnizer if she could change the sign up dates (if its a few days of course) to see if they would allow you to be a part as well

why don't you comment on the gallery and ask if there's been any thought to a round 2? it might not happen for a little while, but it's good to let organizers know that there's interest!

I have to agree with that.   I wanted to organize a swap, but I didn't have feedback on my first swap yet.  I PM'd one of the moderators and asked if I could start a swap, and sent her the link where my partner said she received my stuff.  The moderator said, no, the rules are the rules, and if people start making exceptions, then they should make exceptions for everyone and then what's the point of having rules.  I respected that... although I note that it hasn't stopped others from organizing or participating in swaps before they are qualified.
