Hi all,  This is my first post and my first suggestion for a knitalong.  I'd really like to make these armwarmers with a morphing snowflake to skull design.    Anyone interested?

Looked in my LYS for the yarn today and didn't find what I wanted.  Knitpicks doesn't either, so I guess I'll keep looking.  I think I'll do black and white or blue and white.  Also, the design is done in duplicate stitch and I think that intarsia would be the way to go, so I'll need to chart that, too.

Have you done intarsia before?

yeah, I'm up for learning some intarsia, doesn't look too hard.  I'm not usually a skull girl, but these just speak to me somehow.  I think I'll have to order the yarn from patternworks.  They have the brown sheep naturespun sport and it's only $3.75 a skein.

Come on, people, let's knit!!!

Looking at the pattern, the reason for duplicate stitch rather than intarsia is largely because intarsia in the round is an everloving pain in the butt.  If you decide to go that way, though, you wouldn't need to rechart anything.

Being unable to knit any pattern as written & not being a fan of duplicate stitch or intarsia in the round, I'm going to add more skulls around & make it more friendly to stranded knitting.  I may also end up extending them and joining in the back like a shrug-type-thingy - sort of like this http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter03/PATTshimmer.html but without the lace.  Will probably substitute the yarn unless I can find it in my stash.  I'm thinking white skulls on blue background.
