I DID NOT KNOW there were many Singaporeans on Craftster.

*wave*

Hello from China! I was just back in Singapore over CNY, and met up with vonvonz, I traded her some cheap Chinese polyfill for a cute crochet bag charm. I went to Spotlight so many times and Art Friend at least three times, I also checked out Golden Dragon and the bead store in Chinatown. There isn't much crafting in Xiamen, there're a few yarn shops and one cross-stitch store down town. And a fabric market like a small People's Park, where I end up getting most of my stuff. The range is small but the prices can't be beat.

For an example as to how little stuff is available, I don't even know what interfacing looks like. I'm scared of sewing machines anyway, so I suppose it doesn't really matter.

I crochet and sew a little bit. I've made a few dolls and am in the process of sewing my second bag. You can see some pics on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/andreasee/ Look for the sets on the left hand side.

Next time I go back to Singapore, I would love to meet anyone from this board, and maybe get involved in some swaps too!

Wow, I just wrote a lot, but I'm so happy to find this board!

Heh.

dottydot - congrats on becoming a mrs!

anyway, we have to go Arab Street again. Tongue The previous outing was so rushed. Smiley Or maybe we can go to People's Park - just to mix it up a little.

serialdeviant - Boo to the craft scene in China. Heh.

Oh oh oh.

I had a flash of inspiration.  Roll Eyes

We should meet this Wednesday at Plaza Sing - at the Spotlight Sale. We could meet for coffee, and then hit the racks of Spotlight, fighting the other 500 people who are there anyway.
