I thought about posting this in the business section, but I don't know how often you ladies check that.  Does anybody have a tax ID number and can explain to me how to go about getting one?  I'm planning on doing some research on it, as I've seen all kinds of new terms to me like limited liability company, sole proprietor, etc...  There seems to be a couple of craft fairs around that need you to have an ID number, I imagine this is pretty common.  Any help would be appreciated Cheesy
Thanks guys
Kirsten

Here are some links:
info about craft fairs: http://www.revenue.state.il.us/Individuals/SalesandRelated/fairs.htm
where you register your crafty business: http://www.revenue.state.il.us/Businesses/register.htm

i had to do this for Renegade Craft Fair.  If it is just you, you are the sole proprietor and it goes under your name.
