i'm going to the wedding of a dear friend this weekend, and couldn't find a card that really fit them. although i'm not a fan of the disney mice, they are, and the wedding is at disneyland hotel. the heart is green because it's the bride's fave colour. i needled everything onto pink sparkley craft felt, which worked quite well. then i needled the lettering in yarn, although i don't really care for how it turned out (looks a bit sloppy Tongue). then i made some shrink plastic pieces with their names on them and glued them to the heart. i then glued the whole piece to a sheet of card and tada! the finished result:

Oooo, what a cool greeting card teamwang! It is very original and beautiful. I love it and I am not even a big fan of Mickey! but felted and adorned like this I really love it, it is so cool!  they will love it too, great job!  Smiley

I have never used yarn while needle felting, is it easy? do you just needle felt it and it stays well even if the yarn is not made of wool? or the yarn needs to be wool?

hey craftyzary Smiley thanks!
yes, it's pretty easy actually. i just cut small pieces of the yarn and try and form letters with them. i'm pretty sure i've always used wool yarn when needling. the yarn above was made by a craftster friend in scotland who i sent kool-aid drink mix to and is definitely wool (and dyed with the kool-aid!). in fact, if there's any spinners out there who don't have access to kool-aid i'll be happy to trade you some for some of the finished yarn! Cheesy

What a great idea teamwang - a needle-felted card!

The lettering looks so smooth and fluid too. I can almost imagine someone writing that with a broad handwriting style.

I didn't realize you could needle felt to pre-made felt sheets - does it have to be a particular kind or will any ol' craft felt work?

That turned out super cool, btw - very unique!
