I'm not sure whether this is more appropriate here or in crochet, but it's more book than crochet, so--Anyway.  I was making this crochet square for no apparent reason, but partway through I decided to leave it as a rectangle and use it as a cover for a blank book.  I like how it came out.

I cut pieces of cardboard for the front and back and a skinny one for the spine, then poked holes around the perimeter with a needle and sewed the crocheted cover  to the cardboard with embroidery floss.  Then I glued the pages to the spine and the first and last pages to the inside covers.

If you look at the bottom of the first picture, you can see the cardboard showing between the stitches.
