here's my third go at polly.  the first was perfect, and my daughter took her everywhere.  and then she got left somewhere... Hope?  Saskatchewan?  i'm not sure where, we did too many trips this summer.  so i made another one because we were missing polly, but she turned out bad, i didn't take enough time or i was tired or something.  anyhow, here's the third go, and she's much better...

i included a tute, just because i could and because i've been inspired by other craftster's tutes and how they save steps...

here's the template.  pin to cloth running with the grain, and cut out approximately what you need

here's a shot of the sweater i used.  three pollys so far from this one!

sew around the pattern- easier than sewing from the cut edges, especially stretchy cloth!

cut around the sewing and turn right side out.  stuff with batting or what you like except for the bum.

make a bead bag for the inside for added weight.  i stuff balloons with beads using a funnel.  sew up the bum.

sew on eyes

finish with sequins and whatever, and make fingers and toes by handsewing.  being age-appopriate of course.  my daughter is nearly 2 1/2, so buttons and sequins are alright to use now...

the finished pollywogolina!
