Selvedge is a magazine about textiles in all it's forms. It is a lovely magazine with gorgeous photography and interesting articles but an eye-popping price tag (7.50/ US$20 per issue). I'm thinking about asking for a subscription for Christmas. Not technically a DIY magazine, but it's been pretty inspiring.

I will have to check this out the next time I am at a bookstore. I like articles on stuff like this. Thanks for the heads up!

It always looks more like a book than a magazine... Do you find it's worth the price? It ends up being $30 here, and that's a darn large chunk of change. I just can't help but wonder if it's better enough than Fiberarts and the like that have much lower prices.

It is quite a lovely magazine, but I'm not sure if it's worth $30. It's definately worth a flip through if you come across it but is certainly a luxury. I didn't buy it myself but got a subscription as a present for Christmas. I'm sharing my copy (copies when I get them) with another friend.

i got a complimentary issue and enjoyed looking at the pix, but it seem to be very aimed at people who are either in the textile industry or are obsessed with fibers and materials. i passed my issue along to a knitting friend who owns a yarn shop and designs knitted wear.

i did NOT find it worth the price listed.

I also have a subscription to this magazine, I think its more for reference. My A Level Textiles teacher loves it and has a subscription which we used in class for artist reference, inspiration etc.
I've found it has good adverts at the back and sometimes has some interesting articles.

To decide you could always buy just one issue to see if you like it.

I find the content is worth the money depending on what you want it for!

twenty bucks is pricy, but I have been inspired by so many things in that magazine it is worth it for me.   But whenever I buy it the check-out clerk usually says, "you are going to pay $20 for a magazine? Thats crazy."
