Mirc is free to download, and for the first 30 days ( I am still using it for free months later, I havent bothered to register).  Once you have the software on your computer, you can go into any 'channel' (room) and there are umpteen networks.  Its free to set a room up (you can do it instantaneously), but if you want it to be permanent and have support you just need several people to 'second' it.

Here is a link for downloading the software. It seems a bit confusing at first but once on your computer you just have to click on the shortcut on your desktop, (you can even have it take you automatically to the room you use the most)

Heres a link with more information:

If anyone gets stuck just pm me.

Also if you use a Mozilla internet browser you can get Chatzilla which is like mIRC but not hard installing or configuring going on.

If anyone wants to chat you can pm me or im me - I'm up for making new friends!

.....yeh, and I believe that whether you use Mirc, chatzilla, or the myriad of other software (might not be a myriad but i like that word!), you can still enter the 'room'. I am going to see if I can get someone who is more expert on these to give us a hand, then if we all agree on a time to be there (or a two hour window eg.) we can 'set up' a temporary room.

I'll get back to ya!

Oh and I think you can use Trillian as well to connect to the mIRC servers. It's quite easy to join and make a room. And registering the room is quite easy too. Smiley

http://www.centralchat.net/webmasters/register.php is a fairly good site to learn how to register your names and the room we want.

Hey peeps.  Just wanted to let you know that I'm working on adding a chat feature as we speak.  I don't know how long it will take but hopefully in the next couple of days it will be working!

This should be fun! Cheesy
