Hello!  There are a bunch of us who have been eyeing this sweater for a while. So, I bit the bullet and ordered the magazine (Phildar Tendances '05-'06) with the French pattern from www.knitandtyme.com.

Here it is in all it's Phldarrific glory!

Yarn gauge is 19 sts-27 rows=4" using U.S. 6-8 Needles, but the pattern asks for size 4 needles.

If you're interested in joining, please email me at julsey723[at]gmail[dot]com.  I don't speak a word of french, so if you do, it would help - but this one is pretty simple to tranlsate (thanks to Babelfish!)

Hi,
I have the magazine. I would also like to join the KAL. But first, I would need to get the yarn first! I don't know any french but I have a colleague who is french and has offered to help with the translation.

Yay!  I can't wait to get started on this sweater.  Thanks for starting the KAL Julsey!  I speak some french so we can all work together on this one.  I've started swatching with Red Heart Super Saver (no money right now...) in a great forrest green.  I joined the blog as well!

I don't have Tendances, but I do have another Phildar magazine.
I'd really like to make this bolero sort of sweater in it, but I can't quite wrap my head around the French knitting abbreviations.  I mean, I can understand French pretty well, but this is a bit tricky.
Could we perhaps turn this into a pattern translation help?  Or perhaps someone can point me in the right direction to understanding the French knitting abbreviations?
I have a downloaded lexique, but it doesn't list all the abbreviations.

Ok, I'm just going to go ahead and ask this question anyways and if someone comes along and has an answer, that's wonderful.

I have the Phildar Special Twenty issue, with no English insert.  I really want to make #23: Bolro Femme.
My problem is when it comes to the increasing section.
For the size I'm making, it says:
Quote
28 rgs plus hauts : 1 x 1 m. et 26 rgs plus haut : 1 x 1 m.
So you cast on x-many stitches and after knitting 28 rows in stockinette, you increase by 1 st in the next row? and then knit 26 rows and increase by 1 st in the next row?

oh la la  I just don't exactly understand how they structure the instructions.  I can understand the words.  Undecided
