Oh deary me!
I'm a latecomer to the knitalong and have managed to get to where I start the stomach.
I'm already in trouble as I don't understand the Kf&b k2 across thing.
If I knit into the front and back of a stitch, then knit two and repeat to the marker (one round) I don't get 18 stitches (aaaargh!)

Don't even get me started on wraps!
Can anyone please help me out? This is my first attempts at knitting on dpns and I'm really enjoying making this wonderful digestive tract.
I want to get it finished so my friend can use it in her anatomy class, but it's not much good without a stomach!

I just found out about this a couple of months ago myself. I started the stomach this evening and the same thing happened. I just did an increase in the next row and kept going from there.

I am enjoying this project very much. It's my commute project and I work on it when I'm riding the subway. Recently I rescued a cat who had some intestinal parasites. Supposedly the beasties are gone, but his stool is still very mushy. The vet was explaining that the intestines needed to heal and there was no way for us to know how long he had the infection. She went on to tell me about the villi in the small intestine, and I said, "oh, I've got some on me..." and proceeded to pull out my miles of small intestine. She was amazed and said she wished her teachers (I teach science) did something like that for her when she was in school.

This is definitely a conversation starter...or ender, depending on the reaction of the person asking you what you are working on.

What a fab KAL!

I wish i was competent enough with the DPNs to join.

I'm quite taken with the idea of my own Stuffee though...might have to sort through the felt later on...

I'm declaring myself lurker for the rest of the KAL though!

Hi! I am a volunteer knitter and I am hoping to knit the digestive tract as a visual aid for a community support group. I'm having trouble understanding your instructions. I don't understand what you mean by "Pull cast-on edge up through the middle of the dpns" onwards. How did you end up with 4 needles in your picture?

Please help!

I wish I could find a crochet pattern for this. I dont know how to knit  Cry My little boy has a GI Disorder and we belong to a support group and it would be great gift to give the parents to explain to our kids what is going on. Maybe I will have to find someone to teach me to knit.

This is AMAZING.  I work with a really GROUCHY GI doc.  Maybe if I knit this for him, he'll stop screaming at all us nurses!!!  Or should I make it and stuff it down his throat?

If he is really mean, you could use it to plug up his common bile duct!

I have found the pattern in its entirety, I'm currently about half way through the rectum myself, just started a couple hours ago.
