I posted this before, but it was lost on the craftster blackout day. Here's the BRILLIANT octopus I received from taloola. We met up and she gave it to me in person (quite some time ago now, I have been a slacker). I haven't thought of a name for her yet, but she's very happy hanging out in my home.

Here, VERY late, is the fabby box of yarn I got from opiate_rose. (I'm sure there's more of it, probably lying around my room, attatched to needles. . . . .) Thank you once again!

And oh my god, taloola, that octopus is FANTASTIC! Where did you get the pattern? Or did you make it up?

I have to share my swap goodies even though I'm a little late!
First my fabulous kitchen art from Princessblueberry.. .I love it!

in action on the wall, along with my awesome crochet eggs from Obssessed:

I requested a vintage kitchen image with text that said "I'm not a fast cook. I'm not a slow cook. I'm a half-fast cook" Isn't it perfect??

Next I got a fantastic package from Crafty_Dame! I've never before been HAPPY to be picked last, but this Dame outdid herself! She sent these amazing tea towels (which my neighbor promptly attempted to steal!)  Angry

My kitchen is so spiffy thanks to these 2 awesome craftsters!

Crafty_Dame ALSO sent a whole bunch of cool stuff. She read me like a cheap novel, it's ALL stuff I adore!!

sandalwood soap, bindi, gorgeous green bangles, chocolates, and some cool punjabi newspaper clips for collages. And a very nice letter on adorable stationary.

Thank you both SO MUCH! You are wonderful swappers!!!  Kiss Kiss Kiss

Yeah, Crafty_Dame may live to regret them when they show up on EVERY list in the swaps!!!  Grin

They are Mine ALL MINE!!! I practically had to demand my extra key back from my neighbor as she threatened to come after them when I'm out!

i'm so glad you liked everything batgirl!

the towels are so fun, i made a blue set for one of my friends with vintage gay sailor smut on them, and he LOVES them (but hides them when his mother comes over!). i first made them for the virgin mary swap, and now they're one of my favourite things to give people. i made a set for a friend with images from one of her own porn photoshoots on them for x-mas, and i have my own virgin mary themed ones too. i can't remember if i mentioned it in the letter, but the square applique softens up considerably after a few washes, but the images should stay for a long time (mine have).

i'm sorry the newspaper clippings got so crumpled! i tried to pick out the ones with the coolest pictures and pages with lots of punjabi writing, and less english, so they'd work well for collage.

i just moved to a different city, and didn't want to drive 40min back to my usual stores, so i asked a co-worker where to go for bracelets (which probably feel too small, put them on one or two at a time!) and bindis, so she decided to come with me in an attempt to get me a better price (though it didn't work, which was strange. i think it was because i was with her. i know i usually get overcharged). that's the soap i use, all the organic stores in vancouver charge a bunch for it, but i buy it in the indian foods aisle of a big grocery chain here for much cheaper.

and the bindis can be reused with eyelash glue after the stickiness wears off. my coworker sukhdeep suggested doing a cool pattern on your upper arm with them. she wears them for special occasions like weddings and stuff, they don't really have a whole lot of meaning in punjabi culture, though the more plain ones are worn by hindu women to signify that they're married.

i can't remember how much of this i told you in the letter, hope i'm not repeating myself too much!

That's so cool C_D! I really love it all, you couldn't have picked better if you'd known me for years! Where did you find the images for the towels? They are awesome! I love the cowgirls and the Barbarella stylee space girls! So cute! You are just the best! The soap is still in my dining room and every time I walk through I think "what smells so great?" Then I smile and think of my super kind swap pal! Thank you so much.
