Okay, this thread is amazing (great work errrybody!), so I am moving my pics here. I was skinny little Nancy Calahan from Sin City. At first I was VERY self-concious, since I usually dress pretty conservatively, but. . . after a while (and a couple cups of Halloween punch) I was feelin' more comfortable. . .

And how does little Nancy stay skinny? Thighmaster, of course!
ps-- how do I make my pictures less huge?

Eeeee Everyone's costumes are so good!
So i made a whole bunch this year!
This one is my friend Tina, it's a dominatrix. I didn't use a pattern, I just measured it against her clothes and then took it in, added darts etc.
Bon's Snow White was a simple CIRCLE skirt! (yay circle skirts!), and I made a shrug sort of thing with the puff sleeves and the collar to wear over her corset top. Fiona's Bride I got frustrated with, so my mom made it. It was a Burda pattern (But it's okay, there WERE seam allowances! lol) Fiona is exhibiting here her penis envy =0)
This one was easy, I wanted to have like a pin-up girl bat thing, so I took about a half metre to make sort of a head scarf, and added little ears on. Then I took the other 2 metres and just tied it in the middle and pinned it to my clothes and to hairties at the wrists.
Then I made my Alabama costume from a regular capri pants pattern, and I just winged the shirt.
THIS was my main costume of the year - EDWARD SCISSORHANDS!! =) I used the same patterns as the Bride costume, and then took it in and sewed in the darts on the outside to make it more Edwardy! (and 100X easier) I had two versions of it - the PG-13 version: and the nice, family friendly G-rated: Also, please notice Anna and Rick's beautiful homemade Pirahna Plant and Waluigi.
I've already got some ideas for next year!! =0D I love Halloween!

Hope I'm not too terribly late...I just got my film back...sadly I haven't got a digital camera.
I'm totally obsessed with Halloween and every year we all get together and throw a costume party.  Here's mine and my husband's from this year...both of which I made.
I was what I called Alice in Murderland...

these are my boots that I painted to look like striped stockings and maryjanes, blood splattered of course.

And my husband...El Burrito de Muerte, Attorney at Law
