Awesome bag! There isn't a tutorial around here somewhere is there? I would love to make one like that!

Not that I am aware of.  I made my own pattern for starmeg's bag.

Wow! I was looking at your bag thinking how difficult it might be with a pattern!
Amazing work qazicat, you're one clever chickadee!

.

Should I amaze you even more by saying the bag is fully lined and has 3 pockets inside.  I'm not bragging.  Really.   Wink

Yes!  It IS an awesome bag!  And Quazicat was amazing for making it, sending AND then posting the pictures since I have both a new job and a visitor!!!

The owl broach was snaffled up quick smart by my 8 year old flatmate who thinks it's the bees knees!

I must say, it was very intimidating to be partnered with such an AWESOME sewer!!!!

hi qazicat, lovely bag, you are very clever. have you tried the lazygirl design bags yet. they are great patterns. i have a few. she has a web site. http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/

i joined her yahoo group and she specially sent me a pattern i wanted back with our local janome shop dealer who was going to the same conference and a little badge for a bonus. i have since bought a few. she has a contest on her yahoo site at present and you can win patterns. They turn out wonderfully.

this all looks great! i really love that owl pin you sent to starmeg, qazi!

i think this swap is done now? as everyone (i'm thinking...Huh) has received, correct? if you haven't received, please PM me like right now so i can work on getting a swap angel (but i'm pretty positive everyone has their stuff and...YAY!!!!!)

i know, i know, i STILL have to post pictures of all the wonderful things i got from jane doe, i'll do it soon i swear. this is the first time i've been on the internerd in 3 days. ha. i kind of avoid having to use such a shitty connection ( i was spoiled in new zealand with my beautiful dsl connection!) because it takes so long to work. wanted to mention thuogh, erica, i get SO MANY compliments from your scarf! and the bag. it even matches perfectly with my blue shoes Smiley

qazicat, I must say you are the most amazing seamstress! That bag is gorgeous!

(I have managed to keep the secret of the knitting needle holder you made for my daughter. I will let you know how much she loves it after Christmas!)

Hi all.

I'm posting pics on behalf of jaami.
She recieved a while ago (no she didn't recieve this late  Wink) but as some of you know, she's recently moved away from our lovely end of the globe and understandably, life has been too busy for her to post pics. I didn't take pics of all the items I sent, but here's a taste.

Firstly, a reverseable blue + white bag.
I was so excited to make this because sewing isn't something I do often (read maybe once a year) and I made this without a pattern. Also, without any visible stiching in or outside the bag.
Doing swaps really gets me trying new things. It's great!
Thanks Jaami for being a great partner  Smiley

At the top of the bag there's two buttons/pins and a wetfelted flower pinned on.

And to give you an indication of size/dimentions of the bag, me showing off

Seeing as though we're both in love with music, Jaami and I both sent mix CD's. What she sent me was in a different vein to this so I hope she liked them as much as I liked the music I recieved.
Here's the three I sent (If you can't read the listing and you're interested, let me know)

Icelandic group: Mum (spelt with an accent over the u so it's said more like 'moom')

The 'mixmaster' CD with a mixmash of different genres

And a covers album. This one was the most fun to put together.
There's an orchestal version of a dysney song, Tori Amos covering Jimi Hendrix, a vocal quartet covering sting and a canadian folk group covering  just to name a few

Other items I haven't a pic for, was a loosely-knitted longish scarf, a little echidna finger puppet, and I think that was it..
