What exactly don't you understand? I'll admit, I don't have much practice writing patterns for other people to interpret. Let me know and it might help us both!
ch = chain
sl = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
That's kinda obvious to me, but I realize it might not be so to everyone else.
I understood the abbreviations but while I was trying I got confused after like the first line. When you say " sc in bar of previous sc" What is the bar? Then you "ch8, sl in each ch,
BUT then
sc in each sc
do you mean sc into each sl st?,then ch1 turn, sc in each sc,
I'm sure this makes complete sense to everyone else. Sorry to be such a moron

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound patronizing. Not knowing where I had gone wrong, the abbreviations were just the easiest thing to clarify.
The "bar" of a crochet stitch is the vertical chain part, not the V-shaped part in which you usually crochet on the next row, but the part that changes length between a single, double, triple etc. crochet. The second line of instructions "Ch1, sc in bar of previous sc, sc again in last ch of foundation ch" turns the work 90 degrees, so while the button holes (the first line of the instructions) are worked across, the rest of the choker can be worked up and down.
Thanks for pointing this out! I'll rewrite the pattern a little later.

I love this! I want to make it. Has anyone else made one? I'm kind of a novice crocheter, and I'm have a hard time understanding the pattern. Anyone out there that could give me a hand?
Don't feel too bad. I am also having a hard time with the pattern. I have been sitting here for what seems like 2 hours trying to make this cool project and can't for the life of me figure out the pattern and I have been crocheting since I was 7! LOL!
To the orignal poster.... Great project, but is there a chance that you could do a picture tutorial? I don't mean to sound snarky, but I really just don't understand your pattern at all.

I've changed the pattern adding "turn" commands and changing the formatting so hopefully it's a little more obvious where one row begins and ends. Thanks for bearing with me!

Thank you. It does make me feel better to know I am not the only one.
Thanks for revamping the pattern arrmatie. Wish me luck!
And good luck to you Lydia the Strange!
