Stopmoshun - are the lights run by battery or a plug? My husband keeps trying to get me to make one that lights up and I'm worried about where to attach a battery pack, etc...

I have 3 sets of teeny tiny lights that I got around halloween...

its a battery pack i got from walgreens a while ago. (hopefully this one will hold up and not fall apart like the other one did)

the battery pack is glued to the back and its kind of large, so the shrine has to sit on something and can't be hung on the wall. the only thing i worry about is that if the battery pack breaks, its glued to the back forever.

and the secret to putting in the lights, is that there is a false back of foam core and they are hot glued to that and the picture is glued to that, then you just slide it in. it took me a while to figure that out.

Ahhhhhh! That makes so much sense! I was trying to come up with how to drill holes in the back of the shrine box and attach the lights so it didn't look ugly...I get a bit anal about the backs of them looking all clean & nice. This is an excellent place to start from though.

THANK YOU!

it to me forever to figure out how to put the lights in. i kept tyring to lay them down then smoosh in the foam core, and it didnt' work. i tried glueing them down, that didn't work. it kept making them stick out a couple of inches. then i got the bright idea to glue them to the board and that fixed all my problems.  Smiley

Oh my! Everyone's stuff is so fantastic!

I was really spoiled as well by Mel-my-issa - she sent me so many super wonderful things including but by no means limited to the beautiful red skelly purse she posted - which has drawn many a compliment I might add! I'll post pics as soon as I can or if you have some feel free to post!

Ok, here are a few pics of the other things I sent to Shmee. I had a lot of fun making everything.

Purple corduroy lined zipper bag. It's lined with the same fabric I used for the little bag. I added sequins and beads to Our Lady. Smiley

This is a little bag.

I added a lined zipper pouch to the inside. I added ribbon around the zipper to hide my ugly stitches  Undecided

Here are some glass marble magnets I made. I found marbles that we like 3" and flat on the bottom. My husband tried to keep these!  Smiley

I hope these pics aren't too big! Undecided I also added a few tiny extras. Smiley I'm so glad you liked everything Shmee!! Smiley
