I've been way off the crafting map for a couple months, thank GOD I've finally got my machine set back up.  My sister and I went fabric scavenging recently and found this amazingly textured vinyl.  I hadn't worked with vinyl before and was worried about how my machine might take it...I can proudly report that vinyl is totally awesome to work with and my regular ol' sewing machine sewed through it just fine.  So anyhoo, here's the bag.  It's currently living in a local boutique on consignment (my first experiment with consignment, we'll see how that goes):

It's about 10 inches long and 5 inches high.  (Sorry the pics are a little fuzzy...)
The inside is lined with interfaced lime green dupioni silk, the pocket is a stretch twill.

Very nice.  Isn't sewing with vinyl fun?!?!?!?  I love it.  Something about that little snapping sound as the needle goes through the material is just too cool...okay, so I'm a freak.

And hoping for an early death you swam so far you lost your breath, and struggling in the ebb and flow I took your hand, but you let go...
And now the ocean fills your lungs, and now you've got what you had come for, resting peaceful as you sink to drown under a sea of strangers.

Haha, relatively little needle snapping actually, just one needle lost when I tried to put something waaaay too thick through Wink  I used leather needles and they did the trick, and kept my machine from making that nice metallic heaving, grating sound it makes when it's not happy!

Thank you all for your kind words...back to the sewing table, I have the day off today...!

Thanks--you know, I have never worked with vinyl before because I'd never seen vinyl I really liked either...but my sis and I found this on the sale rack at Joann's!  We also got bright green and bright orange textured...it was a vinyl jackpot!
