I must say that making purses is by far my favourite thing to do!  I just get so many ideas and I'm so glad I can actually make them!

For this purse I used an olive green chintz and ironed on some fusible interfacing.  For the lining and the panel on the front I used an excellent hot pink raw silk that I found in the remnant bin at Joanns (cos there's no way i can afford to buy raw silk at full price...well i could, i guess, but I don't wanna!)  I also ironed interfacing to the lining for extra stiffness.

I strongly recommend that all seamstresses buy the book : The Art of Manipulating Fabric by Colette Wolff.  I already knew how to do the tucks in this purse, but I learned SO many things that you see in all these designer clothes out there, and most of them are so easy!!!  It's a FANTASTIC book.

I can tell you, Fall is composed of

1 part dead fish smell
1 part wet leaves
1 part arctic chilled air (not winter chilled variety)
2 parts crunchy walking
a pinch very cold rain
some apples you picked yourself
a few very still moments
a good deal of inner reflection

ha ha, I just made this high-pitched "Eeeeee" sound when I saw this bag.  people at work definitely think I'm nuts now.  This is too cute.  I LOVE the colors you used and the pleating is terrific!

And hoping for an early death you swam so far you lost your breath, and struggling in the ebb and flow I took your hand, but you let go...
And now the ocean fills your lungs, and now you've got what you had come for, resting peaceful as you sink to drown under a sea of strangers.
