Painting on soap

Last year I saw a clip on HGTV where a lady poured a opaque soap in a mold, let it set, then used acrylic paint to stamp, or paint an image onto the soap and then toped it off with a little clear soap, and presto! The image was in the middle of the soap. I liked this idea so much I tried it myself... but guess what happend? The acrylic paint just bubbled up and floated to the top. I guess the heat of the second layer was just too much for it. The only thing I can think that I forgot to do was spray the first layer of soap down with alcohol after the paint dried, and then pour the second layer.
Help! Do you think my second layer of soap was just too hot? Did I not use enough paint? Should I try a different kind of paint? What did I do wrong?

Oh, I think I answered my own question. I went back and sprayed with alcohol between pourings and the paint didnt bubble up. Ok, As soon as Im done Ill post picts.

Ok, here's my finished project.... forget AXE, dirty boys really get clean with Star Wars Rebel Scum soap!

will the paint get on your hands when you're washing with it?

No, its acrylic paint and it will just decenegrate as you use the soap. Neat huna.

did you paint the design on yourself?? i know plenty of dirty boys that could use that soap..it looks great!

Thanks for the compliments. Yes I did paint the design myself. Im thinking about putting these in my booth at an upcoming art sale... but I wasnt too sure how well they would go over.
