Thank you Aly_421.

Is it because of the small needles and yarn?
I totally understand, as it's taking me forever to finish the sleeves!

You could totally get the needles and yarn for this for cheapcheap.

My website is coming together nicely! Please send me feedback, as I don't know how well it works on systems other than mine.

Also, I have a blog at  http://neglectedblog.blogspot.com/

You could get the yarn by unravelling a thrift store sweater and needles this small always seem to be the easiest to find at thrift stores etc. You might be able to get machine knitting wool on a cone cheaply on ebay or somewhere that would be the perfect weight as well. I'm all for knitting on a tight-ass budget. I don't have yarn money generally. In fact I designed Arisaig to use up some of the yarn I'd inherited from my grandfather, thriftyness can encourage creativity. I think as long as you find something the same weight or lighter than 4 ply you'll end up with something great, and if it's not exactly like mine all the better.
I hope you find a solution soon  Smiley

I've started mine! Grin  I'm making size medium in Rowanspun 4ply.  So far so good, except the ribbing is a little slow to do.   Roll Eyes

I HAVE A SOLUTION! my plan is to go shopping with my mother and show her this pattern and be like "mom, you know how proud of me you are that i got into the play that's going to festival and i got the part i wanted...wellllllllllll as a congratulations gift, you should buy me this yarn and these needles so i can knit this sweater."

i'll definitely sucker her into it...since we aren't even going out to eat for it (no good restaurants nearby anymore)

one relatively cheap way to get the yarn might be to use sock yarn, it would be a perfect weight. I hope your mum buys you it Smiley and well done about the play

I just finished mine last weekend. I didn't have much knitter's self esteem when I ordered the yarn, so I just went for the recommended Jaeger albeit in a shade darker on both the blue and the purple. I'm really happy with it and actually considering knitting one more in another colour - I just want to wear it all the time. It took me forever to finish the sleeves, too, by the way, while body it self took two weeks or so. Anyway, there are pictures on my blog, if you are interested (direct link to cardy pictures here).
